About the Studio

Asa Pingree and Marie Garnier are life partners who run a design studio in Brooklyn NY. They focus on creating striking functional objects and furniture.

Working together has always come naturally; both thriving to achieve pieces that are esthetically stimulating yet practical and refined.

Possessing complementary tastes and skills enables them to really see projects through from idea to finished product and beyond.

 Having grown up in France, Marie studied Mathematics at Edinburgh University in Scotland and Drawing at les Beaux Arts in Paris.

A self-titled professional swiss army knife, she has worked in finance, luxury home goods, and art publishing, leading a flourishing and creative international career.

Since 2017 when they met, Marie has been supporting Asa in all his design endeavors first by curating then joining the business side and finally now working on the development of new designs.

Asa grew up building boats with his father on an island in Maine. The tight knit community also comprised many artists who shared their love of design and theater with the island dwellers.

After studying at London’s Arts Educational College, Asa settled in NYC. He has had many creative outlets but found furniture best combined his passion for problem solving while stimulating his aesthetic sensibilities.

Asa has been successfully leading his own eponymous design practice since 2016. He has won several design awards and his work has been published in magazines worldwide.
